If you're one of the "lucky" millions of people who have dry, weak or brittle hair, finding the best hair treatment for dry hair can be the "holy grail" of hair products. Especially with cold, dry weather, dry hair is predominant. Cooler temperatures and low humidity can strip moisture from the follicles and a the scalp and leave our hair prone to breaking, brittle, and at the very least, hard to manage and control.
Dry hair is hair that does not have enough moisture and oil to maintain its normal sheen and texture. Dry hair may result from too much washing, harsh detergents, a dry environment, inadequate diet, or underlying conditions, such as those due to malnutrition. Dry, brittle hair may be a symptom of metabolic diseases such as hypothyroidism and Menkes kinky hair syndrome.
Apply a few drops of safflower oil to your hands, rub them together, and then work some of it into the ends – it does not take a lot!
Th primary causes of dry hair can be narrowed down to two incidents: One, lack of sebaceous gland production - sebum oils produced by skin glands or two, over-styling and heat damage. Sebaceous glands produce hair oils - sebum - and are associated with all glands of the skin, including the scalp. Normal secretion allows for the "coating" of the follicle shaft with oil that enhances growth, protection and health.
Dry hair can be caused by long exposure to the elements like sun, wind, and water. Using too many hair products and constant hair drying, perming, or straightening can damage your hair as well and make it dry and brittle. But do not worry because there is a solution for dry hair - vitamins.
To add a beautiful shine to your hair dilute apple-cider vinegar in water (one part vinegar to seven parts water) and rinse your hair with it after you shampoo. A vinegar rinse is great for over-processed hair, and it can also liven up a tired perm.
Phytojoba shampoo is a gentle acting, creamy shampoo with superior hydrating properties which will enhance the natural protection of the hair and maintain its good condition. Ingredients including Jojoba oil and cornflower will help to hold in moisture at the core of the hair's fiber - resulting in your hair rapidly regaing shine and suppleness.
Lack of moisture is the biggest problem to state the obvious. Shampoos that topically infuse moisture stand the best chance of reducing fly-away and building strength. Moisture and adequate hydration act to "plump" the follicle shaft and facilitate nutrient delivery, improving the root, bulb and cuticle health. Improved health and scalp circulation reduce breaking and split-ends while adding control and fullness.
Take a cup of coconut milk and add two tablespoons of gram flour or one teaspoon of shikakai. Apply on your scalp and hair and massage gently. Rinse it out after five minutes. Follow this recipe at least once a week.
