First, you need to figure out what is causing your yellow teeth. In some cases, your teeth might have a yellow tint to them as your natural color. Not all teeth start off as bright white, and some people's natural tooth color tends to be more yellow than white. You can usually determine if this is the case for you because your teeth will all be the same color. If your teeth vary in color or shades of yellow, then they are probably stained.

Whiter teeth can also make you feel and act more confident which can also directly affect how you approach life situations. To get rid of yellow teeth there are a number of different treatments, remedies and at-home procedures that can be used. To decide the one that's right for you, it's important to consider the level of yellow your teeth are and the method of application you are most comfortable with.

For many people with slightly stained or yellow teeth, the dream of having a bright white smile just the celebrities seen on TV can become a reality but it does take some work. If you have a desire to get your teeth whiter you need to start using whitening toothpaste. Proper personal dental care using this form of toothpaste (which does contain fluoride to fight tarter buildup and prevent plaque) will enhance your smile and help with your self esteem.

To some degree the yellowing of teeth can be minimized simply by watching what you put into your mouth. There are quite a number of products that will severely increase the speed at which your teeth become dingy. It goes without saying, or should, that smoking is one of the ways to insure that your teeth will loose their gleam. Drinking and eating certain foods is also a sure fire way of having your teeth yellow prematurely.

So how do you get rid of your yellow teeth? Some use a combination of methods, but many use various forms of bleaches to make their teeth look whiter. Some use whitening bleach applied manually, through strips or through an amazing development called a bleaching tray (ask your dentist, it's effective). There are whitening mouthwashes and whitening toothpastes for those whose teeth are only mildly discolored.

Yellowing of teeth and tooth decay are brought on by an indulgence in eating surgery candies, items or treats. However, what most people don't know is that it's not the amount of sugar that you consumer which leads to tooth decay, but the how and when you eat your sugar snacks. As you drink sodas or eat foods loaded with sugar throughout the day your tooth enamel gets exposed to harmful acids. Some items such as cough drops and breath mints might appear harmless but they also contribute to this problem along with hard candies.
