Are you on Twitter? Do you wish that people pay more attention to you on twitter? This is a obvious question because we all seem to be lost in the millions who have joined Twitter. It becomes frustrating when we find that nobody is following us. It is more frustrating to know that all our posts are going unread by our potential target group. This is more true for those who wish to market their product and services. What is the way out of this when all of us are competing against each other to catch eyeballs? You can do one thing immediately and add a background to your profile to differentiate yourself.
How backgrounds help improve your page?
Every twitter page looks the same. They all look like newspaper columns. To bring out your page in focus what should you do? Add something like a background that catches immediate attention. You have choices of adding different designs. You can use backgrounds where you add your photograph with text. That will become your headline. Words like- informative, funny, witty, lovely etc. will immediately catch attention of members.
Selecting the picture -
Take care in selecting your picture. What personality does your picture convey? Please remember that we judge others by their pictures and we will also be judged by our picture. If your profile is business oriented your picture should not convey any insincerity, or other expressions that convey wrong meaning. The first rule therefore is selecting a right picture.

The second factor is choice of background. You will surely not choose a dull background if you want to discuss love and love poetry? Similarly you will not use hearts on a profile talking about technology. In my opinion the best backgrounds are with a neutral theme such as retro lines or polka dots that can be used by anyone. If you want to create a definite impression, select the background with the end result in mind.
