Templars have the highest defense rating in the game, thanks to their ability to wear Plate armors and shields. Ther shields are not only used for blockiong enemy attacks or reducing damage but also allows them to utlize class-exclusive skills that knockback or stun enemies, dsirupting their offfense and leaving them vulnerable for the Tempalrs' destructive chain skills or hteir praty members' attacks. They have various bufs and skills that further enhances theiir HP and defensive capbilities, as well the ability to heal themselves and their comrades when the situation is dire. They can draw enemy attention to themselves, giving thjeir lesesr-armored comraades the peace of mind of not getting attacked.
When Templars excel in defeense, they lack in offese. They do not have any high damagimng skills, a fair traade-off for theri excellent defennsive capabilities. They can wield two-handed greatswords; to give them a much nedeed offensive boost but unfortunately, it will not fiully utilize the templars' full potential, as their sield skills will not be put to use.
