In a marriage, the bride and the groom are the center of attraction and all the guests present eagerly wait for the bridegroom's wedding speech to be delivered during the reception. Though the father of the bride's wedding speech has traditionally been the most appreciated because of the emotional factor, there have been situations where the groom's speech has stolen the thunder. The speech has to be practiced thoroughly to appeal the guests. Many groom's face complexity in writing their wedding speeches, but if you adhere to the following steps, your task will become easier and you will be able to prepare a good speech.

Be confident in what you are doing and the same will be reflected in your writing. Initiate your wedding speech by welcoming and thanking all the guests for taking the trouble to attend the wedding. Keep the words simple and give special thanks for the precious time they have spent by being present and making the ceremony a grand success.

Next, thank your parents and the bride's parents for all they have made for you and your bride. Talk great about the arrangements. In the course, do not make the wedding speech dull and enliven it with a bit of nostalgia, jokes, quotes, etc. This will make your speech attractive.

After all have been thanked, involve your bride in the speech. Say her that you are fortunate to get her as your bride. Share some anecdotes highlighting her qualities that make her special. This may make you emotional. Do not hold back your feelings. A sentimental speech is loaded with emotions of real life. All, especially your bride and her direct family members, will love this.

Never forget the maid of honor and the best man, they are vital for the occasion. First, speak about the maid of honor, because you have just finished talking about your bride. The best man's speech can be humorous. Lastly, inform the guests, why you have chosen him as your best man.

Most people have this misconception that the groom's wedding speech should be beautifully written in flowery language comprising of clever references and lovely anecdotes. Nevertheless, a true groom's speech is the one that comes from the heart and delivered perfectly. Point out the event happened during the organizing of wedding. Express your belief on ideas of love, loyalty, family, fidelity and commitment; and why they are vital for a marriage to succeed. Persons who have helped you during the course should be mentioned.

Write down your speech previous to the D-day and practice it thoroughly. Remember 'practice makes a man perfect', and more practice will give you more confidence while delivering your groom's speech. Keep it short but express all you want to say. Lengthy speech will bore the guests. End your speech by raising a toast to the parents of the bride, your parents and the guests.
