A travel RN is a registered nurse who travels from one place of practice to another. There are plenty of travel RN jobs available for qualified nurses who are registered nurses. Many of these jobs are located in rural clinic settings where doctors are scarce and where medical care is needed by those living in these communities. Those who are looking for travel RN jobs can find them when they go online. In order to be a travel RN, a nurse must be a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the state in which they are working in. A registered nurse answers to a doctor, although the doctor is not usually on the premises in such rural clinics.

There is an increasing demand for health care in the United States that is compounded with an increasing number of people who have no health insurance and cannot afford costly doctor visits. There is also a decreasing number of physicians in the field in the United States as well. Those who want to see a doctor often have to wait weeks and sometimes months for an appointment, even if it is something simple. As a result, many people who need immediate medical care look for alternate means to get it. A travel RN can be just the thing when someone needs to see a doctor for an infection or other ailment that can be treated by a nurse. Travel RN jobs usually entail nurses traveling to different clinics, some of them rural, to care for patients who might not be able to get to a doctor in the area.

Years ago, doctors made house calls and were available pretty much all of the time, especially for young patients such as babies. The trend has changed as doctors are encumbered by paperwork as well as medical liabilities that have prohibited them from seeing many patients at a time. The days of the old fashioned doctor making a house call in the middle of the night are over. Today, many doctors are simply swamped when it comes to seeing patients. A travel RN can relieve this burden and see patients who need health care but do not necessarily need to see a doctor. Many travel RN jobs will help patients who are looking for medical care and need it on an emergency basis. For example, a parent who has a child with a fever can go to a clinic where they employ a travel RN and get a prescription for an antibiotic to help in the case of a fever or some other ailment that is common to children.

In addition, travel RN job employ nurses to go to county facilities where they can dispense vaccinations that are needed for school aged children. Many of these offerings are free and provided by the county for patients who cannot afford to see a doctor because of lack of insurance or who cannot get in to make an appointment to get the vaccination. A travel RN can go to the venue and dispense these vaccinations so that children can get what they need to attend school. Travel RN jobs usually entail a nurse to go to different places where health care can be provided by nurses. As a registered nurse is licensed to perform routine health care as well as administer certain drugs, this is becoming more and more of a commonplace in the United States.

Author Resource:- A travel rn is a nurse who goes to a variety of different clinics and other venues to provide medical care, often for those who cannot get this care from doctors because it is cost prohibitive. Travel rn jobs are plentiful and those who are looking for these type of jobs can find them when they go to RN Network.
