Golf over the past decade has become an emerging sport allowing more and more people who previously had no access to golf facilities to try it and get involved the funding of the sport has been a major catalyst in getting these people involved.
More golf courses have been built during this past decade to accommodate the new influx of golfers; there has also been an increase in driving range facilities for either practice or for golfers who don’t yet want to venture out onto the golf course.
There are few better areas to play golf then Monmouthshire itself, located in South Wales, Monmouthshire boarders England and carries on out past Newport. There are many golf courses located within this area from traditional members golf clubs to nine hole pay and plays, the area really does cater for all types of golfer and not to forget that Monmouthshire contains the Celtic Manor Golf Complex home of the 2010 Ryder Cup.
Monmouthshire is a lovely area to either visit for the day or to take a relaxing holiday and is proving very popular with golfers as a destination for a golfing break.

Located in Monmouth close to the English boarder it takes in breathtaking views of the Wye Valley so even if the golf is poor that day you can sit back and enjoy the beauty the area has to offer. The Forest of Dean is only a short trip away and is well worth a visit, steeped in history the Forest of Dean has many tourist destinations that are a must see without spending a penny.
