The program was touted by President Obama as a way to help mothers gain entrance into institutes of higher education. The goal is to make going to college or university much more accessible.

A down economy doesn't mean that education should move down as a priority. In fact, now is a great time to earn a degree to prepare for the demands that will rise. Strong moms deserve chances to help strengthen their families, and education is a great start.
