Help your shy child gain confidence by encouraging him to view the world through a positive lens. Many children develop a fear-based nature because of the harsh messages bombarding them in today's world. Instead of increasing the amount of tension in his life, help your shy child or highly sensitive child by sharing positive, life affirming messages with him.Shy Child Help

Positive affirmations can buffer the negative messages children receive all the time. Many children hear nothing but scolding all day long. Instead of scolding, use the everyday moments in your child's life as a time for positive affirmations. Remind your child of how special, precious and loved they are and of all his good characteristics. Over time, these words are like little seeds planted in the subconscious mind. Watered with loving actions and kind words, they help a shy children blossom.

Positive affirmations don't just help your shy child. They also offer reassurance for a highly sensitive child. A highly sensitive child may be bold or shy, but he or she reacts differently to the world than other children. Things another child may brush aside seem to sting and hurt the highly sensitive child a bit more.

Criticism especially wounds a highly sensitive child and tends to 'stick' more than positive words. Such children need an abundance of positive, loving affirmations repeated daily. A highly sensitive child may react to the slightest provocation, but hearing loving, reassuring words from their parents daily helps build in them a level of comfort. Instead of responding to every external stimuli, the messages gradually take hold and the child begins to relax.

Positive affirmations aren't intended to manipulate shy children or a highly sensitive child into an outgoing, bold child. Rather, they build up what is already good, beautiful and true within the child and buffer the negative messages bombarding children. Try this in your home!
