Interest has been increasing for the Albino Leopard Gecko breed since the late 1990’s when the first versions of this breed where primarily hatched. Since that time a lot of breeders have been having a desire for generating different versions of this kind of gecko. The coloration of these albinos may range between a high yellow, to a grayish / creamy colored color.

Rainwater, Tremper, and Bell are all strains of the Albino Leopard Gecko breed. However, these three strains posses recessive traits meaning the traits that make them albino will never carry over into the next generation when breed against one another. Recessive traits are often the product of a mutation of particular family genes that manage a certain part of the geckos growth. Basically breeding albino leopard geckos is a matter of probability when it comes to recessive traits as there's no real approach to figure out when these traits will be an albino offspring. The typical outcome is a normal non-albino breed.

Knowing the primary difference between the three strains isn't an quick task, and at instances even comes down to an informed guess. The Tremper is regarded as the common strain and will also be the most prevalent. They even were the first of leopard gecko albino strains to be identified. The coloration of this albino leopard gecko may be seen in a few different variations such as pink, white, and even brown, which at times, gets confused with the “Mocha Strain”. The eye color difference also comes down to the heat range at which the gecko was incubated at. It seems darker colors are produced from a higher heated incubator temperatures. Their eye color ranges from that of a typical gecko’s color to a light pinkish hugh.

The 2nd most commonly seen strain of albino leopard gecko is the Rainwater strain. You can differentiate between them given that they typically are the pinker of the strains, but that’s not always exact in 100 percent of the cases. The Bell strain is the third and rarest of the three stains. They are also distinguishable by their color, they are generally the darkest of the three strains. In addition to that, their eyes will also be the reddest of all three. Even into the adult years the red eye color of the Bell is not going to fade the way it does in the other two strains to a lighter beige color.

Light sensitivity is a thing that is seen in all three of the albino leopard gecko strains. When they are come across glowing lights they will likely shut their eye as safety. To keep them at their most content it is a good idea to always maintain them in low lights, especially when they're feeding to ensure they're at ease enough to get their fill.

These three strains of albino leopard gecko may soon be joined with many more variations of albino strains as breeding becomes a lot more readily practiced. The choices actually are endless and will begin to show the results of this within the next few years. Their ease of care really does make sure they are the right pet for any age group.
