A wood burning stove definitely has some advantages to an open fire to heat up your rooms. A stove produces twice as much heat as an open fire. The glow of the fire is more from a stove than an open source. Moreover, a stove needs less air to burn the fuel than in the case of an open fire. Also, if the room being heated is warmer than the air outside, the open fire will suck all the warmth. This heat will go up the chimney and be lost to the environment outside. The same can be said about gadgets producing heat like heaters or radiators, the heat is released in the environment through the chimney.

Thus you see that a stove is capable of producing eight times more heat than an open fire. Thus you can use a stove to warm even palatial rooms. The heat being generated through the stove will rise up and warm up the stairwells and landings. The heat will flow through floors and soon warm up the house. The heat thus produced will be preserved by being absorbed by the walls. The capacity of a stove is immense too. A small stove is powerful enough to warm up a whole cottage.

Now what fuel to use for what stove? Well, you can have a wood burning stove, gas stove, solid fuel stove, multi-fuel stove and many others. Wood which is an excellent fuel is also the cheapest available. If you use seasoned wood then you will see better results than normal wood.

A small wood burning stove has a burning capacity of 3 to 4 tons. The larger stoves can burn around 5 to 6 tons. The wood boiler stoves can burn 10-15 tons. If you use wood in a modern stove to warm your house then you will have a clean (least smoke and ash) and economical experience. You can run the modern wood burning stoves by using fuels like peat, compressed paper, straw, or wood waste. Always make sure before using such fuel on the wood burning stove that they are free of moisture. Then you will have a great heating experience. You can also mix such fuels with logs. But do not overload the stove with fuels. There are coal stoves and solid fuel stoves also available but coal is an expensive fuel.

If you are looking for a stove then you can visit online or high street specialist stores. Here you will find stoves that can run on various fuels, which come in various shapes, sizes and budgets. Select one that will best match with your home décor.

Buying a stove online has some advantages; these stores will offer you some discounts on the product. Moreover you can check the prices of stoves at various online stores with just a few clicks of a mouse. This will save you time, energy and money. You can shop for them at any time from the comforts of your own home.
