I started using grocery coupons many years ago when the common practice was to clip coupons out of the newspaper or insert. Now I shop with printable grocery coupons because they are much more convenient. My experience has been that shopping with coupons is a great way to save money on a large portion of our weekly needs.

Today's article is about a technique of greatly adding to your grocery store savings by stacking. Stacking is when you combine manufacturer coupons like printable grocery coupons with a store coupon. A large number of shoppers are still not aware of this technique. Today, many stores do permit it.

Check your local store's coupon policy to see if stacking is allowed. It is a good idea to have a printed copy of your store's coupon policy with you as you check out. Occasionally store employees are not fully aware of policies regarding coupon redemption. Carrying a copy of the policy with you can speed up the checkout process.

As soon as you start stacking, you can not only receive huge discounts, but can actually get items for free too. For example, say a product is on sale for $1. You have a printable grocery coupon offering 50 cents off and you have a store coupon providing 50 cents off. By combining both of the coupons, you save $1. That item is free!

The important point is that stacking grocery coupons is an easy strategy that every shopper should practice. Although it takes some advance planning and organization, stacking can result in tremendous savings every time you shop, and even allow you to get some products for free!
