If you are looking to stay in the UK for your short break or holiday then a visit to Cumbria and the Lake District should be high on your list. Up in the north of England, bordering parts of Scotland, Cumbria is perhaps one of the most beautiful places in England – home of the every famous Lake District.

With fully qualified instructors you could soon be hurtling down a violent stretch of water at 50 miles per hour, with nothing but human will and a boat ore. Maybe climbing takes your fancy. If so there are hundreds of great rocks and cliff faces to scale and abseil down in the heart of the Lake District. Cycling is also a popular hobby of Cumbrian regulars. The many trails and off road routes can be enjoyable and also great if you are an exercise buff. You can really test your stamina by seeing how long you can bike through various terrains.
