Time Management: Some Practical Consideration

Managing time is a major and important part of our connected and post modern life. The religions of the world can not make a decision about the characteristics of time, that is, whether it is circular, linear, or completely stops at a certain point. Therefore sometimes it is a rather useless effort to define and create rules for managing time. Another reason why this is so, is that for those people who have no faith or are not believers of any religion, time is a mystery. And this is not very easy to handle. Friedrich Nietzsche, the German philosopher, has been quoted to have said that intelligence is the capability to be alone. This can be modified to say that intelligence is the capability to be alone when time is passing by. The understanding of the philosophical aspect of time can be increased by the effective and efficient use of time in our daily lives which are spent in making money. When this is done it will grant relief from the financial pressures and burdens. The major reason why people are not able to fulfill their needs and desires in life is that they do not have the means or the money to do so and they are restricted financially. With Time Management, this becomes less of an issue when money is available as it provides independence. With time management, the person obtains freedom from the hectic life of the daily nine to six job, and experiences more time on his hands. This will result in a happier, relaxed, and comfortable life as the mind is more relaxed and silent.

There are a number of practical ways through which time can be managed more effectively to result in increased financial success. The Eisenhower method to manage your working time enables you to differentiate what is urgent and what is important, so that the correct action can be taken. This method works better and is easier to understand if time is managed by obtaining feedback from the environment and reacting to it. When we are dependent on the environment, it will help in setting our priorities with respect to the work tasks. Planning and spending effectively is the key to become free from the financial pressures.

Another aspect involved in time management which is usually ignored is that the same level of priority should be given to family, friends, pleasure, and leisure as is given to work
